About Airline Pilot Flight School
A flight school at Van Nuys Airport that trains people toward the airline flight deck under 14 CFR part 61. Six airframes owned outright, eleven instructors, one field, and a price list you can read before you speak to anyone. This page says who we are and, further down, what we refuse to claim.
Why The School Is Called Airline Pilot Flight School
The name is a description rather than a flourish, and it was chosen so that nobody has to decode it.
Three words, each doing a job. Airline is the destination the syllabus is pointed at: the certificates and the hours that a regional carrier asks to see, in the order they are usually gathered. Pilot is the person, singular, because training happens one seat at a time and a class size of one is the only class size here. Flight School is what the operation actually is under the regulations, and not an academy, an institute or an aviation university.
A name that literal has a cost, which is that it will never sound distinguished. It has a benefit too. Somebody typing the words airline pilot flight school into a search box wants exactly the thing this operation does, and there is no gap between the sign on the door and the service behind it.
Where the name appears on paperwork it appears in full. Invoices, enrolment agreements, the privacy policy and the refund terms all carry it, and the operating entity is named alongside it on those documents so that the two are never confused with one another.
There is no second trading name, no former name and no rebrand behind this one. The school opened under it and uses nothing else.
Where Airline Pilot Flight School Is Based
Van Nuys Airport, at the north-west corner of the Los Angeles basin. The office is at 7900 Balboa Blvd, Suite 108, Van Nuys, CA 91406, and the airplanes are parked on the field itself rather than at a second address you would have to drive between.
KVNY is a towered airport with two parallel runways and a control tower that works traffic all day, which matters more to a student than it sounds. Radio work stops being a special occasion in the first week, and the pattern is busy enough that spacing, sequencing and holding short become ordinary long before a checkride examiner asks about them.
The field sits 802 feet above mean sea level. Practice areas, an instrument approach and a second airport for landings are all inside a short cross-country, so a two-hour lesson spends most of its time on the lesson.
Phone and text both reach (747) 688-9988, and the line is open 9am until 9pm on every day of the week. Saturday and Sunday are ordinary working days at a flight school, and they are answered as ordinary working days.
What Part 61 Means At This School
Every lesson given at this school is given under 14 CFR part 61. That describes the legal structure and nothing more; it is not a marketing position, and it carries consequences worth understanding before you enrol.
Part 61 sets out what a certificate requires and leaves the route to it open. There is no FAA-approved course outline that has to be followed lesson by lesson, no fixed enrolment date and no cohort you must keep pace with. Your instructor builds the sequence around what you can already do and how often you can fly.
The trade is real and worth stating plainly. A part 141 school can, in some cases, sign a graduate off with fewer total hours than part 61 requires, and it can issue the paperwork that certain visa categories depend on. This school does neither of those things, and if either matters to you then a part 141 operation is the correct choice and you should make it.
What part 61 does well is tempo. Somebody flying five days a week and somebody flying every second Saturday are on the same syllabus at different speeds, and neither is waiting on a class to form. The certificates arrive in the same order and mean the same thing on the same certificate.
Four Things About This School You Can Verify Yourself
Every claim on this page is either checkable in a public document or answerable by asking one direct question. These four are the ones worth checking first.
The Aircraft Belong To The Operation
Cessna 162 Skycatcher, Piper Warrior, Piper Arrow II, Diamond DA20, Cirrus SR22 Turbo and Piper Seminole, owned outright rather than leased in from a member or a broker. Ask to see the registration for the airframe you would fly. A school that owns its fleet can put you in the same aircraft on consecutive days; one that brokers cannot promise that.
Inspected under 14 CFR 91.409(b)Three Credentials Behind Every Instructor
A commercial certificate or an ATP underneath, a flight instructor certificate above it, and a medical in date. All three are on the FAA airmen registry and you are entitled to ask which name to look up.

Everything happens at Van Nuys Airport. There is no second base, no satellite campus and no arrangement where the airplane is somewhere else on the morning of your lesson.

Single-engine, fuel included, for enrolled students. Instruction is separate and every program price on this site is fixed rather than estimated. Nothing on the site quotes a range you would have to negotiate downward.

Who Airline Pilot Flight School Is Built For
Somebody who intends to fly for a living and wants the ratings in a defensible order, at a price agreed before the first lesson. That is the whole of the intended audience, and the site is written for it rather than for a general aviation reader.
It suits a career changer in their thirties, forties or fifties as readily as somebody at twenty-two, because part 61 does not run on cohorts and nobody is holding a seat open in a class you would be late for. It suits somebody in full-time work, because a fixed price does not expire if the weather takes a month off you.
It does not suit everybody, and saying so is cheaper than a refund. If you need an M-1 visa, a part 141 school is the one to approach and this one cannot help. If you want a sightseeing hour rather than a certificate, a scenic operator will fly it for less. If a job offer at the end is your condition for enrolling, no flight school anywhere can honestly promise you one, and an operation that does is telling you something about itself.
The assessment flight exists so that this decision gets made in an airplane rather than on a web page. Sixty minutes, logged, and a straight answer afterwards in both directions.
What Airline Pilot Flight School Does Not Claim
No pass rate, no graduate count and no safety record appears anywhere on this site. The operation is young, a statistic drawn from it would rest on too small a sample to carry meaning, and publishing one anyway would be a worse fault than the silence.
No reviews, no ratings, no star counts and no quoted students, on any page, in any form. A school that chooses which of its students get quoted cannot then call the result evidence.
This is a flight school and not an airline. It is not owned by one, it has no cadet program, no pathway agreement and no hiring relationship with any carrier. Nothing here offers an interview, a position or a salary, and no page on this site should be read as implying one.
Instruction is given under 14 CFR part 61 and not under part 141. Nothing on this site should be read as suggesting otherwise, and the terms of service name the operating company for anyone who needs it in writing.
Questions People Ask About Airline Pilot Flight School
A flight training operation based at Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles, training people toward the certificates and ratings an airline career is built on. Instruction is given under 14 CFR part 61 by eleven instructors, in six types of aircraft the school owns rather than brokers.
At Van Nuys Airport, whose identifier is KVNY, in the north-west of Los Angeles. The office address is 7900 Balboa Blvd, Suite 108, Van Nuys, CA 91406. Airport elevation is 802 feet, and the airplanes are kept on the field itself.
No. Instruction is given under 14 CFR part 61 in every case. If what you need is the paperwork only a part 141 school can issue, most often for an M-1 student visa, then this is not your school, and hearing that now beats hearing it after you have paid.
Not long, and the site says so rather than implying otherwise. That is why no pass rate, graduate count or safety statistic appears anywhere on it. What can be checked instead is the fleet, the instructor credentials and the price list, all of which are on this site.
Call or text (747) 688-9988. The line is open 9am until 9pm on every day of the week, weekends included, and one number takes both calls and messages. There is also a form on the contact page if you would sooner write than speak.
Six types: Cessna 162 Skycatcher, Piper Warrior, Piper Arrow II, Diamond DA20, Cirrus SR22 Turbo and Piper Seminole. They are owned outright, maintained in-house, and arranged as a progression, so which one you meet depends on the phase of training you are in.
No, and it will not. No quoted students, no ratings and no star counts appear on this site, and neither does a pass rate or a graduate count. The school is young enough that any such figure would rest on a sample too small to carry meaning.
Book an assessment flight. It is sixty minutes of dual instruction at $229, you do the flying, the time is loggable, and the fee comes off any program you enrol in within a day. The evaluation runs in both directions and you are told plainly what we think.
Meet The School In An Airplane, Not On A Page
Sixty minutes of dual instruction at Van Nuys with one of the eleven instructors. You handle the controls, the hour is logged, and afterwards you get a straight read on what your plan would actually take. Enrol within a day and the fee comes off the program.
Fly The Aeroplane Once, Then Decide
The assessment flight is the first hour of the syllabus and a two-way evaluation. You fly it from the left seat with an instructor beside you, they write down what they saw, and you get an honest read on whether the plan is realistic. It is loggable, and it is credited in full against enrolment if you enroll within 24 hours.
