Refund policy
LA Flight School Inc., trading as Airline Pilot Flight School, 7900 Balboa Blvd, Suite 108, Van Nuys, CA 91406. Last updated 4 September 2026.
All sales are final. Payments for flight lessons, Discovery Flights, training packages, block hours, Redbird MCX sessions and gift certificates are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by law. What we offer instead is flexibility on when and who.
Transfers
Any purchase may be transferred to another person free of charge with at least 48 hours written notice. There is no limit on the number of transfers.
Rescheduling
Free with at least 48 hours notice. Inside 48 hours a $50 rebooking fee may apply, at our discretion.
Cancelling a lesson
Give at least 24 hours notice. Inside 24 hours you may be charged up to 50% of the scheduled lesson.
Discovery Flights
A Discovery Flight cancelled inside 48 hours is charged in full. Where the Discovery Flight Terms and Conditions differ from this policy, those terms govern Discovery Flights.
No-shows and late arrival
A no-show is charged 100%. Arriving more than 30 minutes late is treated as a no-show. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
Weight limits
Every aircraft has FAA-certificated weight-and-balance limits we cannot exceed. Published limits appear on the relevant booking page. Weight may be verified on arrival, and a person over the published limit cannot be flown; that is treated as a cancellation inside 24 hours and charged in full.
Weather and maintenance
If we cancel for weather, maintenance or instructor availability, you are rescheduled at no cost.
Gift certificates and prepaid credit
No expiry date and no dormancy fee, in line with California Civil Code section 1749.5. Freely transferable.
Chargebacks
Please give us 15 days to resolve any billing question before raising a dispute with your bank.
