Terms of service
LA Flight School Inc., trading as Airline Pilot Flight School, 7900 Balboa Blvd, Suite 108, Van Nuys, CA 91406. Last updated 4 September 2026.
These Terms govern your use of flightschool.la and your purchase of any service from us. By using the site, booking a flight or purchasing any service, you agree to them.
What we do
We are a flight training school operating under 14 CFR Part 61 at Van Nuys Airport (KVNY). We provide flight instruction, ground instruction and training in a Redbird MCX advanced aviation training device. Every flight, including Discovery Flights and introductory lessons, is instructional and is conducted with an FAA-certificated flight instructor who holds legal command of the aircraft. We are not an air carrier and we do not provide sightseeing or charter transport.
Booking and payment
Payment is taken at the time of booking. Prices are published on each booking page. All sales are final; transfers, rescheduling, cancellation windows and no-show treatment are set out in our Return and Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Eligibility and safety
A student pilot must be at least 16 to fly solo and 17 to hold a private pilot certificate; there is no minimum age for instructional flight with an instructor aboard. A person under 18 needs a parent or guardian to sign. Non-US citizens must complete TSA Flight Training Security Program requirements before training begins. Every aircraft has FAA-certificated weight-and-balance limits we cannot exceed; published limits appear on the relevant booking page and weight may be verified on arrival. The pilot in command has final authority over the flight and may end or refuse it for safety. We may refuse service for any lawful reason, including intoxication, impairment or unsafe conduct. Every participant signs a Release of Liability before flying.
Assumption of risk
Flight training involves inherent and significant risks, including serious injury and death, which cannot be eliminated regardless of care taken. By booking and participating you acknowledge those risks. The full scope of the risks and the releases you give are set out in the Release of Liability you sign before flying.
