What does not vary is the substance. You occupy the left seat, an instructor holds legal command from the right, and the time goes into a logbook under your own name, entered as dual instruction received. It counts toward the forty-hour floor in 14 CFR 61.109 whether or not you ever come back.

Which One To Book

Sixty minutes settles the only question a first flight needs to settle: whether you want more of it. Ninety gets you out to a practice area with time to repeat a maneuver. Two hours holds a full airwork block plus a navigation leg, and is the only length that behaves like a syllabus lesson rather than an introduction.

Enroll in any program within 24 hours of flying and the price of the flight is deducted from the program in full.

Fly The Aeroplane Once, Then Decide

The assessment flight is the first hour of the syllabus and a two-way evaluation. You fly it from the left seat with an instructor beside you, they write down what they saw, and you get an honest read on whether the plan is realistic. It is loggable, and it is credited in full against enrolment if you enroll within 24 hours.
